NPR, Janet Evanovich and Trenton

June 24, 2010

On Monday, June 21, Janet Evanovich returned to Trenton to speak with NPR Correspondent Pam Fessler. The purpose of the meeting was to record an interview for part of NPR’s Crime in the City series about crime novelists and the locales they choose to set their stories in.

I was brought in to conduct a tour of various locations in the real Trenton that appear or inspired parts of the Stephanie Plum books.

Starting at St. Francis Medical Center, we toured the immediate neighborhood then paid a visit to Italian Peoples Bakery on Butler Street in Chambersburg. From there it was off to lunch, then the Trenton Police Headquarters for a tour. We finished off with a quick run across town to the Cluck U Chicken* ( store and then back to St. Francis for a wrap up.

*I am not sure that Janet knew there was a Cluck U in the area.  But when I first read a mention of “Cluck-in-a-Bucket” in her books, I immediately thought of Cluck U and added it to the tours.
