One person’s junk mail is another person’s prop

July 24, 2010

Got an email Friday asking if I could gather up some old utility bills and such that could be used as part of the set dressing for the One for the Money film shoot.  Seems they needed this stuff to make the apartments of both Stephanie Plum and Joe Morelli more realistic.

As luck would have it, our recycling had just been collected two days earlier so our reserves of “junk mail” and other ephemera were low.  Fortunately a couple of emailed requests brought forth more than enough samples of the required bills, etc to send to Pittsburgh.

Who would have ever thought I’d be answering a request to pack up 3 pounds of junk mail and FedEx it to a film production site?

I’ve learned my lesson and will keep a small reserve on hand.  If you come to take a Stephanie Plum Tour of Trenton, ask me to show a real live PSE&G bill!  Just like in the movies.
